We are letting this blog sleep here a little while longer as we get our website up and running in the various stages.

There's lots to share and we generally update co-op members every week or fortnight.

Co-op information for December and January

The end of another year is fast approaching. Where does the time go?!

The co-op is open for another two weeks on the 15th and 22nd December, then will have a short break.

FIG will be closed on 29th December and 5th January, and resumes on the following date:

First day back in 2015

Monday 12th January

Due to increases in the price of produce box prices will be $33.00 from January 2015.

During the final two weeks of co-op for this year, we will conduct the normal weekly boxes, a bulk order, have the usual extras table produce overflowing with goodies, and see two more weeks of the Member Markets - a great place to stop and buy some pressies - bring your cash with you!

Time for an update

We are currently working on rejigging the website.  

Until such time it is ready, we are unable to edit the current website and so if you are new to FIG, please read on... 

If you would like a $30 trial FIG box please contact us on fig.centralcoast@gmail.com.

Otherwise, come visit the co-op between 2 - 4.30pm any Monday (unless Monday is a public holiday and we open on Tuesday instead for that week). After 4.30, the super efficient pack up volunteers will have swept away most of what to look at, so please come in earlier...

Tuesday operation this week

We wish you all a safe and happy Easter weekend. Safe driving, if you're on the roads.

Due to the public holiday Monday, FIG will operate on  Tuesday 22nd April instead.

Co-op information

Here are a couple of co-op updates...

Next Monday is a public holiday so FIG will operate on Tuesday 28th January instead.

The latest bulk order form will be emailed to members either tonight or early Monday morning, and paper forms will be available at the co-op. 

Orders are due back by midnight 20th January, for collection Tuesday 28th January.

Happy New Year!

That was a short break, with FIG resuming as normal tomorrow.

Happy New Year to all, and we hope you have had a lovely, restful time with family and friends.

We shall be taking bulk orders tomorrow, with collection due the following Monday, 13th January. An email with order form and ordering information has been sent to members today, however paper orders will also be available at the co-op.

The farmers have had a short break as well and we're all ready to get back into it!

Last day of co-op for 2013

Monday 16th December heralds the last day of co-op operation for the year.

We will have member table markets, the FIG raffle (value around $90 of goodies), FIG tea towels...

Beautiful linen: hand dyed, screenprinted, ironed and folded by Figgie members, including Utopia Screenprinting.

... and some Christmas cakes!

We're back on Monday 6th January and wish all our members a safe and happy holiday season.

Christmas is coming!

We have three more co-op days before a short break.

FIG will be open on Mondays 2nd, 9th and 16th Dec

and then you won't see us again until 6th January!

We will have member table markets at all three December co-ops and judging by the success of last Monday's market day, these will be a good place to buy gifts and yummy treats for your family and friends, or more seedlings for your gardens. We now have FIG tea towels thank you to a group of wonderful members. Check them out next time you're in.

The last bulk order for the year is due to be collected on the 16th December, which means orders are to be in on 9th December. Order forms will be emailed out to members.

It has been a good year for FIG and we can barely believe 2014 is just around the corner...

Hello to all our members and anyone new thinking of popping into the co-op.

FIG is not open today.

It is a public holiday Monday and so we shall be opening tomorrow instead:

Tuesday 11th June - 2pm until 5pm

A change to co-op operations

After a trial period and consultation with members, the FIG Board decided to change co-op hours, effective 25th March 2013, to closing at 5pm instead of 6pm.

This means no more extras will be sold after 4.30pm and, should you be running late, please ring the FIG phone on 04166 47715 to arrange a bag to be packed for you for collection during pack up.

Hours are now 2pm until 5pm each Monday 

- unless there is a public holiday.

And....... there is a public holiday Monday next week, for Easter!

As usual, co-op operations will move to the  Tuesday - 2nd April, from 2pm until 5pm.

Remember, there is no co-op on today, as it's a public holiday.

FIG will operate tomorrow:

from 2.00pm until 5.00pm.

Public holiday operating hours

There's a public holiday looming up and, as usual, FIG will meet on the Tuesday of that week instead.

As a scouting group is due to use the hall late Tuesday afternoon, we shall need to be packed up nice and early with no extras being sold after 4.30pm.

The FIG Co-op operating hours will be:

2pm until 5pm, Tuesday 29th January.

NO CO-OP ON MONDAY 28TH

Please note that co-op on Monday 21st will be the normal operating hours - 2-6pm.

17th December, 2012

17 December - last day of co-op operation for 2012.

We're back on Monday, 7th January, 2013.

Thank you very much to our FIG members, FIG farmers and suppliers, for another good year.

It's been a big one, with Incorporation earlier on, moving premises, rabbiting on to farmers about growing organically and encouraging our members to grow their own food as well. FIG would not happen at all without the support of local farmers but, most importantly, without the amazing support and dedication of a lot of volunteers. 

We thank you all, very much. 

2013 will see us talking to more farmers about the importance of chemical free food, and to develop the FIG Friend plan, as well as other things! So, if you are out there reading this and wishing you lived closer to FIG or had a closer pick up point, you may like to consider becoming a FIG Friend yourself or advising us that you'd use this service in your region.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and holiday season. Catch up in the new year...

Christmas/New Year operating hours

As usual, FIG is having a break over the Christmas and New Year period.

Our last day of operation shall be Monday 17th December and we shall resume Monday 7th January.

This means FIG will be closed on 24th and 31st December.

Thank you to all our wonderful members and volunteers - and of course, a HUGE thank you to our local farmers and growers as without you, we wouldn't exist! 

New hours at the co-op

From today, Monday 8th October, we shall be trialling longer hours at the co-op.


Today, the doors will officially open at 2.00pm (instead of 2.30)...


... and will close again at 6.00pm (instead of 5).

Tuesday at the new venue

Hello to all the Figgies out there around the Central Coast on this beautiful, sunny, long weekend day!

This is just a quick reminder that the co-op will be opening on Tuesday 2nd October - NOT tomorrow - due to the public holiday Monday.

Times will be as normal - 2.30 opening and 5.00 pm close - but the venue has changed. From this week we shall be calling the Ourimbah Scout Hall home after over three-and-a-half-years down the road.

The address, a map and directions, for those of you who don't know the Scout Hall, can be found here on the blog or here on the FIG website.

Set up volunteers may arrive at the normal time of 1.15pm, with the pack up team coming in around 4.45pm.

We hope you are enjoying your long weekend and look forward to seeing those not away on holidays on Tuesday.

FIG is moving!

FIG is moving!

Finally the search and waiting is over and we have found a new home for FIG.

Monday 24th September will be the last day at Sohier Park.

On Tuesday, 2nd October (Monday being a public holiday) we shall begin operations at the following:

Ourimbah Scout Hall, 

Ourimbah Creek Road, Ourimbah 

(just behind the Metro Service Station on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Ourimbah Creek Road).

Tuesday hours of operations shall be 2.30pm until 5.00pm.

On Mondays we shall soon be trialling longer opening times and will advise when that commences.

From the North: 

Down Wyong Road from the Tuggerah roundabout, turn right into Enterprise Drive/Chittaway Road at the 4th (Chittaway) roundabout, after about 6Kms just after you cross over the railway lines, turn right at the roundabout onto the Pacific Highway, past the speed cameras near the school and the RSL club then left at the second set of lights into Ourimbah Creek Road. We are in the first of the three buildings on your left.

OR

Down the F3, take the Ourimbah exit, left into the Pacific Highway, then right at the first set of lights into Ourimbah Creek Road. We are in the first of the three buildings on your left.

OR

Down the old Pacific Highway from Wyong, through Kangy Angy, past the Palmdale turn off then left at the Ourimbah roundabout then right at the first set of lights into Ourimbah Creek Road. We are in the first of the three buildings on your left.

From the South: 

Up the Pacific Highway through Ourimbah, past the speed cameras near the school and the RSL club then left at the second set of lights into Ourimbah Creek Road. We are in the first of the three buildings on your left.

OR

Up the F3 then left onto the Ourimbah exit, right into the Pacific Highway, then right at the first set of lights into Ourimbah Creek Road. We are in the first of the three buildings on your left.
